No one at Dashlane knows your Master Password, and we can't send you your password if you forget it. To ensure the security and privacy of your data, we don't have a traditional "reset password" process like other apps. Warning! If you forget your Master Password and haven't turned on a recovery method, you can lose the data you’ve stored in Dashlane. Your Master Password is the only password you need to remember when you use Dashlane. Only you know your Master Password and your password is never shared with or stored by Dashlane. Your Master Password is the only way to unlock your Dashlane account. When you create a Dashlane account, you need to create a Master Password. These codes are used to check your identity when you change your Master Password, add new devices to Dashlane, or use your account recovery key.Ĭhange your contact email address in Dashlane Your Master Password Based on your security settings, Dashlane sends verification codes to that address. Make sure you have access to the inbox for your contact email address. Dashlane automatically uses your login email address as your contact email address, but you can provide a different contact email address. You'll always use the same email address to log in to your Dashlane account. After you've created your account, you can't change your login email address because the address is your Dashlane username. Your login email address is the address you use to create your Dashlane account and the address you use to log in to your Dashlane account. Join a Starter, Team, or Business plan with SSO Login and contact email addresses If you're joining a Starter, Team, or Business plan, you'll start by accepting the invite in your email instead. When you create a new Dashlane account, you need to provide a login email address and then create your Master Password. If you don't know whether you have SSO, ask your manager or plan admin. Instead of a Master Password, you use your regular work password to log in to Dashlane. SSO means you use one login application to access Dashlane and other work accounts. If you're a member of a Dashlane Business plan with SSO enabled, this section doesn't apply to you as you don't have a Master Password. Steps for installing the Dashlane extension in all browsers If you use a Linux or a Chromebook device, you can only use Dashlane with Chrome, Firefox, and Edge. You can also use Dashlane in Chromium-based browsers like Opera and Brave. The Dashlane web app is officially available for Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari. You need to prove that you're the one trying to get access to your Dashlane account. To access your data in the web app, you have to "authenticate" the device and browser you're using.
